2026 Scholarship Winner

At Hillview Health & Rehab, we are honored to announce Cora Gibbs as our 2026 scholarship recipient. This scholarship is generously funded by the Ocoee Foundation for high school seniors pursuing a degree in the medical field. As a standout senior at Cloudland High School in Carter County, Cora combined a passion for agriculture with a profound dedication to healthcare. 

Beyond her academic achievements—maintaining a 3.5 GPA while taking dual enrollment courses through Northeast State Community College—Cora had active ties to both her school and local community. As a member of Cloudland's Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, she participated in livestock judging and livestock photography. She also served through Future Teachers of America (FTA) and spent time assisting her neighbors in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, supporting church supply drives and helping clear storm damage. 

Cora’s calling to the medical field is deeply personal. After navigating a family health crisis when her mother was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, Cora gained firsthand experience assisting with specialized daily care and recovery. This pivotal moment sparked her passion for nursing and patient care.

She has already earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and previously cared for residents at an area long-term care facility. Cora is currently working as a CNA while she pursues her goal: earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Milligan University and working as an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse.
